Ég hef lengi horft á þessar postulínsstyttur sem fylla hillur nytjamarkaða. Þær endurspegla jafnan göfgi vinnunnar, fegurð, frelsi og fullkomna hamingju. En enginn veit hvað undir annars skinni býr og þess vegna hefur mig lengi langað til þess að gefa þeim dálítið spark.. hleypa einhverju út, myrkri og sársauka sem býr í okkur öllum. Teikningarnar spegla stytturnar að einhverju leyti og eru afsprengi þeirra. Fyrstu stytturnar eru frá 2021 og eru nú eign Safnasafnsins á Svalbarðsströnd
Porcelain figurines represent most of the time some perfect innocent world, along with beauty and happiness found in manual labor. We do not know what lies under the skin of others is an Icelandic saying, and that is something I tend to think about when I look at those figurines that are no longer fashionable and therefore fill the secondhand stores. My result are the Mutilations, the first ones are from 2021.
