Fimmföld Sýn Duus Reykjanesbæ 2019

Five artists had access to workshop in the old Schoolhouse at Hafnir for about three months. Artists Helgi Hjaltalín and Valgerður Guðlaugsdóttir led the project. I like the subdued colours of early spring so I used my water colours to collect samples from nature. Down by the sea is this upended piece of driftwood. It was used as a landmark for seamen and sailors so they could find their way. Landmarks like that were called Sundmark. This came together in paper sculptures, embroidery and video.
