I work partly as a hiking guide, and nature is an endless inspiration for me. I always collect something during my hikes. Sometimes I count the steps, use GPS tracks as a base for paintings or take photographs. Stones, straws, water from lakes lay around in my studio, waiting for some idea to be born.I have been collecting withered straws for some time and since textile has always been part of my artistic expression, weaving, combining colourful threads and yellowish straws seemed to be a natural approach. This collection of weaving can be installed in many ways depending on the space given. Attached are some photos indicating some possibilities.
